Dreaming of Grandma Shea
- It is evident from its celebration that the effect of the sacrament of Confirmation is the special outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted to the apostles on the day of Pentecost. -Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraphs 1302-1303
Last night I had a dream about my Grandma Shea, the first that I can ever remember. My mother and grandma were sitting at a table eating dinner.
Grandma Shea turned to me and said, "I remember my confirmation Theresa."
She told me that before she was confirmed she had a necklace. The necklace was a depiction of the Trinity. One day, she said she found the missing piece and when she picked it up, it fit right into the necklace as if it were always meant to be there.
"That is how it will be for you Theresa," she said.
I woke up and began to cry.

Theresa Beasa - Your Grandma Shea loved you ssssooooo much. How wonderful to have a dream about her. As in your dream - don't you feel like all the pieces are coming together? I was thinking of Grandma Shea today, I told Uncle Pat she so would have liked to be here with her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She is so proud of you, sweetie. Lots of love - Aunt ME
That is exactly how I felt - like she is proud of me and wanted to tell me. I felt so loved by her.
Theres that is so wonderful! I love it when our relatives come to us in our dreams. Over 1 1/2 years ago I had a dream where my grandma Fox (my mom's mom) told me that her mother (which would have been my great Grandma Elizabeth) would have been proud of me. Then many years ago I had a dream of my Grandpa Fox and she said to worry about the souls of men and gave me a Psalm to read...I'm so happy for you.

Those are both such wonderful dreams. Dreams can mean nothing and they also can be such a powerful way for us to connect with those no longer living and with our thoughts and feelings that are too deep down for us to really understand - that is until they come to life in the story of our dreams.
What a blessing this dream was to me, Theresa. When you told me on the phone, I cried in the airport. Grandma is so proud. I wish she was here to celebrate with us. Actually she will be - I just wish we could see her like she'll be able to see us!
Love you, mom
